About WaveRider
Welcome! I am Jason Wagner Owner and Operator of WaveRider Electric & Automation. Since I can remember I was fascinated by electronics and machines and how they worked. My first experiences came from taking broken devices like VCRs, toys, and video games and disassembling them to see how they work and fixing them. I ended up with stacks of them.
My stepfather was a contractor and from an early age I worked for him over weekends and summers. I have always said I will never have a boss as strict as he was. He regularly docked me time for having idle hands or making mistakes. He instilled in me the values of a good work ethic, doing things correctly to the best of my ability the first time, and efficiency. I have have carried these values with me throughout my career and life.
I have wired, integrated, installed, and serviced equipment for the Semiconductor, Food and Beverage, and Medical industries. Worked as an Industrial Electrician in a variety of Industries and progressed to an Automation & Controls Engineer working with cutting edge robotics, PLCs, and Industrial networks. Along the way I have taken courses and training to broaden my knowledge and expand my skillset and will never stop learning and taking on challenges.
My father and other family members live in Hawaii and from my first visit I have always loved ‘Salt Life’ and have a deep connection and respect for the coast and the ocean. I am grateful to be able to live and work in a coastal community and serve SE North Carolina and NE South Carolina.
Over my 25 year career I have witnessed firsthand the pitfalls of corporations and big business: Impersonal Service, Lack of Innovation, and disregard for exceptional skill, talent, and creativity. WaveRider Electric & Automation prioritizes expertise and forward thinking ensuring personalized, high quality solutions that will stand the test of time.
